Innovative New Franchise Opportunity: Discovery Ice Cream

What do you get when you combine a children's science and technology museum and an ice cream store?  Perhaps a very hot new franchise format.  Enter Discovery Ice Cream.  Founded by two Christians long on entrepreneurial, technology and robotics experience, this new franchise opportunity features an ice cream store where robots -- commanded by the patrons -- build and serve a customized ice cream treat in glass kiosks while everyone looks on and learns about robots.  Sound like fun?  It sure does.  It also sounds like a very good business concept.  Think robots that replace human labor, for a much higher profit margin.  Think of the up-sell opportunities and the higher price point per customer as children continue to order add-ons such as sprinkles and cookie crumbles to their ice cream treat -- just to watch the robot build it.  Think of a Christian franchise that expects to deliver good, clean family fun, but also expects you to be closed on the Lord's Day to honor God.

This highly innovative franchise concept has just been announced by New Venture Lab member and Discovery Ice Cream founder and CEO, Allan Jones.

Their website describes their concept as follows:

The DISCOVERY EXPERIENCE

At Discovery Ice Cream, expect the unexpected. Like high-tech robots serving custom-designed ice cream treats. Like unique espresso-based ice cream desserts. Like educational classes on science and technology.

Expect wonderment in a child’s face as he or she uses easy touch screens to instruct robots on how to build their tasty work of ice cream art.

Expect sophisticated surprises as you discover our incredible Cool Beans & Cream menu, one of the most unique coffee-themed menus you’ll ever find.

And expect intelligent play to come alive as parents and child alike have fun learning in our Discovery Classes.

Whether it’s running in to a long-lost friend or an arranged meeting with your book club group, Discovery Ice Cream shops are places for families and friends to gather and play.

A place where the most important thing you’ll discover is that finding “me” time doesn’t mean having to sacrifice “we” time.
