"I wanted to thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights during yesterday's . I especially

appreciate your use of case studies as learning opportunities. You gave me valuable take aways; some of which I have already been able to apply (with great results) to my current venture. 

Specifically, your message of creative collaboration carried the farthest. Our company operates in and area that is gaining increased attention from large (established) organizations as well as startups - all trying to figure out how to capitalize on the future of this burgeoning industry. With

attention comes potential for great partnership, but also great competition.

For the past few months I have avoided (directly) confronting other players in our industry until I was confident I had come up with a practical

partnership arrangement. After your talk, I was inspired to call one of our potentially biggest competitors and directly state our intended actions in the market place. 

In the end, I found out that they are considering selling the part of their business that directly competes with ours. We are now discussing terms of acquisition.

I have one more direct competitor to call, and look forward to it!"
