Our initial volume features family profiles of Cook’s Pest Control and Holden Coal.  Cook’s Pest Control is a fourth-generation family business that has grown into the seventh largest pest control company in the U.S. with over 1,300 employees in 32 offices.  Holden Coal is a New York-based business working in the emerging energies market, running a unique operation of selling coal and servicing and selling coal burning stoves.  Both companies are family run with multiple generations serving in the day-to-day business operations and both businesses offer unique insights into how to start and operate a family business.
