Necessary Sales Skills

What skills are essential to becoming a good salesman?Answer
There are many, but here are a few that I feel are very important:
- Ability to listen and "read" the customer
- Ability to probe for understanding
- Knowledge of your products or services
- Knowledge of your competition's products or services
- Follow-up (simpy doing what you committed to your prospect or customer to do)
- Empathy
- Ability to speak, present and write clearly
- Ability to think on your feet and answer objections
- Ability to think creatively
- Ability to match a need with a product or service that meets that need
