Do you have any recommendations on a template that I might follow when creating a business plan?Answer
A lot depends upon the need for the business plan.
Is the business plan to be used to help you think through the key issues surrounding the business idea and flesh them out? If so, I recommend our Venture Analysis, an automated web-based analysis tool. The analysis walks the user through 50 critical questions and algorithms to analyze their business. The final output is a detailed report on each of the 50 critical business plan components.
Is the business plan to be used to raise capital? If so, I recommend the using the business plan template for a startup business or, if you have an existing business, the business plan template for an existing business.

One thing we frequently discussed during the internship was about having a good framework to use when analyzing or compiling data. If one consistently uses a truly good framework like the VentureAnalysis mentioned above, then one will train himself to analyze data well and sharpen analytical skills. I plan to use the VentureAnalysis and other frameworks or "grids" when creating business plans.
