Apprenticeships for Married Men

Question

The NVL apprenticeships appear to be geared towards young unmarried men, would you ever consider offering an apprenticeship to a married man?

Answer

We have thought about apprenticing married men as well, but right now the program is structured with the interns working full time during the day and classroom instruction and case discussions in the evenings and weekends, leaving little free time, which would take too much time away from a married man's family.  For the future, we are considering a full-time class-room/training/business incubation apprenticeship program (fee-based for the apprentice rather than salary-based), which would work well for a married man.  The upside is full-time learning and focus on the apprentice's business plan, but the downside would mean an investment for the apprentice rather than a chance to learn while they get paid a salary.
